Sculpting Spray Foam
StiltbeastStudios has some excellent tutorials on crafting with various materials I wouldn’t have thought to attempt otherwise. Expanding foam being a prime example.
Listen closely to the guidance on this one, because it can go wrong quick. He’s only using one brand (Loctite), one type (Gaps and Cracks) and it’s super important to give the spritz of water time to work. Ignore any of that and you are going to have a sticky mess that is slowly petrifying around your fingers.
Take your time and listen to some of his tutorials, and you can get really fantastic results with minimal effort.
I’ve done some props to look like really rough bark, rotting pumpkin, and I’m currently designing a monster hand.
